Haeran Ryu Makes LPGA History Setting New Scoring Record at Evian Championship
Haeran Ryu climbed to the top of the Evian Championship leaderboard on Saturday in record-setting fashion.
Ryu carded an 11-under 60 in the third round, which is the lowest score ever for an LGPA major. She was one shot away from tying the all-time mark across all events.

The Women's PGA Championship winner had nine birdies and an eagle on No. 6.
Ryu wasn't tracking her quest for history as it unfolded.
"But after the putt and I counted my score with my caddie," she said following her round. "Oh my God, it's 11-under par today. It was so amazing. My caddie says, 'Yep.' I'm so happy right now."
The television broadcast caught her doing the mental calculations and discovering how well she had performed.
Her caddie, Martin Bozek, was equally unaware.
"We just kind of kept rolling out there, hole by hole," he said. "She actually got my attention on the 18th green after she putted out and held like fingers up. I had no idea what it meant, and then she's like, 11-under. I'm like, okay. That's when I found out."
Heading into the final round, Ryu is at 19 under and holds a three-shot lead on Aki Iwai, who could be her only serious challenger. Brooke Henderson and Mao Saigo are tied for third at 12 under.
