Every Snub from Top 10 in New NFL OT Rankings by Coaches, Execs

There are no shortage of high-level tackles across the NFL right now, but the quantity of talent inevitably means there will be snubs and surprises when trying to rank them.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler unveiled the list of top 10 tackles entering the 2026 season as voted on by scouts, coaches and executives, but it also included a group of honorable mentions and others who didn't quite crack that very top tier.

Here are the players that made the top 10 group:

4. Jordan Mailata, Philadelphia Eagles
5. Laremy Tunsil, Washington Commanders
6. Darnell Wright, Chicago Bears
7. Lane Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles
8. Andrew Thomas, New York Giants
9. Joe Alt, Los Angeles Chargers
10. Garrett Bolles, Denver Broncos

Behind that collection of talent, Fowler also included the list of honorable mentions.

Rashawn Slater immediately jumps out as a player who could vault into the top 10, possibly even the top five when the 2027 list comes out.

The Los Angeles Chargers star was already regarded as a top-10 tackle in Fowler's survey last year, checking in at six and receiving votes as high as No. 3.

Slater's drop in the rankings comes after he missed the entire 2025 campaign due a torn patellar tendon suffered in August.

"He's absolutely a top-10 tackle. He'll be back on it next year, I believe," one NFC executive told Fowler about Slater.

Another honorable mention who could make a move if he stays healthy in 2026 is Paris Johnson Jr.

There may not be a lot of attention paid to the Arizona Cardinals this season with the team still mired in a rebuild, but Johnson has improved as a pass-blocker every year of his career.

Johnson allowed eight sacks as a rookie, then four in 2025. He missed five games last season, including four straight from Weeks 15-18, so the Cardinals will be counting on him to provide stability at left tackle for Jacoby Brissett and open lanes for rookie running back Jeremiyah Love.

One NFC executive told Fowler they think Johnson "can be elite" in the future. The Cardinals are certainly hoping that's the case since they are trying to find foundation pieces to build around right now.
