Daniel Jones Gives Injury Update Amid Rehab From Torn Achilles Ahead of Colts Training Camp
Indianapolis Colts fans got a positive update from their star quarterback on Friday.
Daniel Jones, who suffered a torn Achilles in December, said he's been "cleared to do everything" in the team's offseason program.
"I'm doing everything. Cleared to do everything," Jones said Friday, per James Boyd of The Athletic (h/t Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk). "I think it's just about, at this point, sharpening that, getting more explosive, getting stronger, kind of improving what you can do. I can do everything and feel really good doing it."
Jones added that he's made a "good amount of progress since minicamp" and feels that he's "in a good spot" ahead of the Colts' training camp later this summer.
Jones, who joined the Colts last offseason, completed 68 percent of his passes for 3,101 yards with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions last year, marking one of the best statistical seasons of his career despite playing just 13 games.
Indianapolis was 8-4 before Jones went down with the injury, appearing on the way to the playoffs. Assuming Jones is ready to go by the start of the season, he and the Colts will look to pick up where they left off last year.
