Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce's Wedding Spending on Permit, Police OT Confirmed by NYC Mayor Mamdani

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding required a large police presence around Madison Square Garden last Friday, and the pop star footed the bill for officers' overtime pay.

New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed Friday that Swift paid $160,000 to cover police overtime as part of the permit required to have the wedding at the iconic venue, per Variety's Ethan Shanfeld.

"Taylor Swift will be paying … has paid already the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event," Mamdani said. "That was a permit that was finalized, I think, in just the days before the event itself."

Considering the estimated price of the wedding weekend, $160,000 for police overtime is just a small portion of the bill.

The New York Post reported that Swift and Kelce's wedding is estimated to have cost $30 million or more. Floral arrangements and decor made up $5 million of that.

To put that into perspective, Kelce's contract with the Kansas City Chiefs has an average salary of $12 million per year, meaning the wedding cost nearly three times what he'll make in 2026.

But Swift has an estimated net worth of $2.1 billion, according to Forbes, so the pricey wedding, which featured performances from Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks and more, likely didn't hurt too much.
