Jayden Daniels Joins Caitlin Clark, Jayson Tatum, Josh Allen and More Stars on Gatorade's Roster

Scott PolacekJul 9, 2026

Jayden Daniels is an Offensive Rookie of the Year, Pro Bowler and one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL.

He is also the newest member of Gatorade's athlete roster.

Gatorade announced Thursday that Daniels is the company's first NFL athlete addition since 2024. The Washington Commanders signal-caller joins a roster that includes headline stars such as Josh Allen, Caitlin Clark, Jayson Tatum, Justin Jefferson and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, among others.

"Growing up, I used to watch the iconic Gatorade commercials and think to myself, 'One day, that will be me'—and now it's happening, which is crazy," Daniels said. "From off-season workouts to in-season practice and games, Gatorade has always kept me hydrated and ready to compete at the highest level. I'm honored to represent a brand that's been part of my journey since day one."

The LSU product wasted no time making an impression at the NFL level after Washington selected him with the No. 2 overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft.

He was a Pro Bowler and the Offensive Rookie of the Year in his first season while completing 69 percent of his passes for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also added 891 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, highlighting his playmaking ability as a runner as well.

The individual statistics were impressive enough on their own, but Daniels also led the Commanders to the NFC Championship Game as a rookie. Considering the franchise hadn't even won a playoff game since the 2005 campaign, it was quite an accomplishment.

All that brilliant performance did was elevate expectations heading into Daniels' second season, but injuries limited him to seven games in 2025.

With their star quarterback sidelined for much of the season, the Commanders struggled on the way to a 5-12 record.

But with Daniels expected to be back under center and throwing to Terry McLaurin, a bounce-back effort in 2026 would be anything but surprising for both him and the Commanders. That will put him even more under the spotlight that remains bright after his dominant rookie season.

And it is even brighter after Thursday's announcement he is joining Gatorade's team.
