J.J. Watt Joins 'Shark Tank' as Guest Shark for Season 18, Former NFL Star 'Extremely Grateful'

Zach BacharJul 7, 2026

Former NFL star J.J. Watt revealed that he's joining Shark Tank as a "Guest Shark" for the show's upcoming 18th season.

"Been a Shark Tank fan for all 17 seasons," Watt wrote in a post on X. "Kealia and I have debated deals & terms from our couch for years. Crazy valuations, royalty deals, all of it. To be in a place now where I'm fortunate enough to be asked to be a Guest Shark is pretty surreal. Extremely grateful."

Shark Tank features entrepreneurs pitching their products to a group of potential investors, looking to secure funding for their projects.

Watt spent 12 years as a defensive end in the NFL from 2011-22, finishing with $129.7 million in career earnings (via Spotrac).

He earned five Pro Bowl nods and three Defensive Player of the Year awards as a member of the Houston Texans before spending his final two seasons on the Arizona Cardinals. Watt was also named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame's 2010s All-Decade Team.
