Paul Skenes, Jacob Misiorowski Replaced on 2026 MLB All-Star Game Roster, Updated NL Pitching Staff
A handful of All-Star pitchers have been replaced ahead of next Tuesday's game.
MLB announced Tuesday that Braxton Ashcraft, Luzardo and Riley O'Brien will replace Jacob Misiorowski, Max Meyer and Paul Skenes on the National League roster.
While neither Skenes, Misiorowski or Meyer is currently injured, their absence from the All-Star Game is likely due to the pitching plan for their respective teams. The Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins all play on Sunday, and Skenes, Misiorowski and Meyer will presumably be on the mound in those games.
That will give three other players the chance to pitch for the NL team.
Ashcraft is a first-time All-Star in just his second MLB season. The 26-year-old has put together a strong year, recording a 3.24 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP in his first season as a full-time starter.
It will also be Luzardo's first All-Star appearance amid a career year for the 28-year-old. The Philadelphia Phillies ace has notched a 3.75 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP while compiling a 7-4 record in 18 starts.
O'Brien will be making his first All-Star appearance after making his debut in 2021. The 31-year-old Cardinals star has recorded a 3.72 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 36 appearances this season.
Other starting pitchers on the NL roster include Cincinnati's Chase Burns, Arizona's Eduardo Rodriguez, Atlanta's Chris Sale, Philadelphia's Christopher Sanchez and San Francisco's Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
The NL bullpen consists of O'Brien along with Philadelphia's Jhoan Duran, Atlanta's Raisel Iglesias and San Diego's Mason Miller.
The All-Star Game will take place on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The week will be filled with other events as well, including the Home Run Derby on Monday night.
