49ers' Christian McCaffrey Showcases Intense Pushups in Trending Video of NFL Offseason Workouts
Anybody can do normal pushups to prepare for an NFL season. But Christian McCaffrey has taken the time-honored exercise to new heights this offseason in his preparations for the 2026 campaign.

NFL Teams That Could Be Surprise Playoff Contenders
Look, NFL defenders aren't going to stiff-arm themselves.
The 30-year-old has shown little signs of slowing down, even if injuries have been an impediment in the past. He was fantastic in the 2025 season, rushing for 1,202 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 102 catches for 924 yards and another seven scores.
In a season when the Niners were beset by injuries on both sides of the ball, McCaffrey carried a major load for the team and did so at an elite level, serving a reminder as to why he's a four-time Pro Bowler, three-time first-team All-Pro and one-time Offensive Player of the Year.
The only real blemish on McCaffrey's career, if you would even call it that, has been seasons lost to injury. In three separate campaigns between his time with the Carolina Panthers (2017-22) and the Niners (2022-present), he's played six or fewer games.
Some of that is probably down to a heavy workload, with five seasons of 300 or more touches and two seasons of 400 or more touches (including last year's 413). Three times in his career he's led the entire NFL in touches, and that leads to plenty of hits taken and wear-and-tear on the body.
Hence the importance of a vigorous, if somewhat unorthodox, offseason training regiment. The Niners are at their best when they can offer a heavy dose of McCaffrey for opponents to handle. He's making sure he's ready for that usage.
