McGregor last fought in July 2021 when he suffered a broken ankle in his second straight loss to Dustin Poirier. He was set to return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024, but he was forced to withdraw due to a toe injury.
Holloway and McGregor previously met in the Octagon in 2013, well before either of them reached their current level of stardom. McGregor took home a decision victory, but Holloway expects a different outcome this time around, telling TMZ that he will win on Saturday "in devastating fashion."
Fans will certainly be excited to see McGregor make the walk to the Octagon once again, and it sounds like Holloway is ready to give him a proper return to the fight game.
