Skylar Diggins Rips WNBA's Sky in Video, IG Photo After Being Moved to Bench
Things are not exactly going well for the Chicago Sky.
Starting the season 6-14 would be bad enough on its own, but marquee free-agent addition Skylar Diggins doesn't seem to be too happy about an apparent decision to bring her off the bench.
"And the crazy part about it all is that ... I've been so quiet," she said on her Instagram Stories. "I've been so good and quiet."

Angel on Dream's Losing Streak

Reese Records Double-Double in Loss 🍔
Chicago signed Diggins as part of an offseason overhaul that saw it trade Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream and bring in Rickea Jackson, DiJonai Carrington, Azura Stevens and Jacy Sheldon. Throw in the draft choice of UCLA national champion Gabriela Jaquez, and there was reason for optimism.
That optimism is gone.
Jackson is out for the season with injury, Carrington is yet to play a game and now Diggins is apparently upset with a change of role that will have her coming off the bench. That all of this happened after Reese publicly criticized the team and her teammates prior to the trade makes it even more notable.
Chicago has been one of the worst teams in the league of late with a 13-27 record in 2024 and 10-34 record in 2025 prior to this season's struggles. The addition of veterans such as Diggins was supposed to stabilize things, but that has not led to improvement in the standings.
Diggins is one of the best guards of her generation with a resume that includes seven All-Star nods and six All-WNBA selections. While she is no longer at the peak of her career, she has still been solid this season and is averaging 14.2 points, 4.9 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game despite some shooting issues (39.2 percent from the field).
She has also started in each of her 19 appearances, although that appears destined to change.
Next up for the Sky is a Tuesday game against the Phoenix Mercury, where Diggins may come off the bench for the first time this season.
