Serena, Venus Williams Get Wimbledon Schedule Update After Serena Discloses Knee Injury
Serena Williams and Venus Williams are tentatively slated to begin their Wimbledon doubles run on Saturday.
ESPN broadcasters Malika Andrews and Andy Roddick provided an update during Thursday's coverage of the tournament.
The agent for Serena announced she had "tweaked her knee" during her first-round loss to Maya Joint in the singles draw. Williams assured fans on Instagram she would "be doing everything I can to be ready for doubles."

Ex-Knicks player hopes 'truth' about exit comes out
The 23-time Grand Slam champion returned to competitive tennis in the HSBC Championships earlier this month. She teamed up with Victoria Mboko to beat Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Erin Routliffe in the opening round, but they had to withdraw after Mboko suffered a knee injury.
Williams then competed in the Berlin Open with doubles partner Karolina Muchova. They lost in straight sets to Routliffe and Giuliana Olmos.
The Williams sisters were originally slated to play Thursday against Camila Osorio and Solana Sierra. Pushing the match back to Saturday will give Serena a few extra days to let her knee heal.
Because of her dominance in singles events across multiple decades, it's easy to overlook Serena's impressive haul in doubles. She and Venus combined to earn 14 major trophies, including six at Wimbledon. Even more impressively, they're unbeaten in Grand Slam finals.
The last of those triumphs came at the All England Club in 2016.
Nobody is realistically expecting Serena and Venus to collect a 15th title. Simply seeing them compete together at least one more time is more than enough for fans.
