Without Wilson there to anchor the defense, Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart were unstoppable getting to the rim and picking apart the Aces on their way to a combined 51 points.
Jackie Young was unstoppable on the other side with 31 points, but it wasn't enough to make up for Wilson's absence.

While the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final does not count toward regular-season records, there was still plenty at stake with a $500,000 prize pool. Each player from the winning team received $30,000 with $10,000 going to each player on the losing team.
This was also a fitting final between two era-defining teams that have combined to win the last four WNBA titles. Las Vegas won three of those championships, but New York defeated the Aces in the 2023 Commissioner's Cup title game.
With Wilson out and the game in New York, anything but another Liberty win in the latest final would have been surprising.
The home team responded as expected out of the gates and built a double-digit lead in the first few minutes before expanding it to 14 by halftime. While Chennedy Carter did what she could to keep the Aces within striking distance by providing a spark off the bench, there was too much firepower on the other side.
Ionescu was aggressive from the start and attacked the basket before she found her shooting stroke when defenders started worrying about those drives. Throw in Stewart getting to the line and Jonquel Jones dominating the glass, and the Liberty were in full control.
Yet Las Vegas wouldn't go away.
The visitors dominated the third quarter and cut the deficit down to a mere three heading to the fourth. Young filled the void with Wilson out and took over with a three-pointer, an and-1 at the basket and timely facilitating when defenders collapsed on her penetration.
The Young show continued in the fourth, as she gave the Aces the lead with a floater and continued to dictate the pace by aggressively attacking.
With the pressure dialed back up thanks to Young's individual brilliance, the Liberty responded with a 12-0 run with Stewart and Pauline Astier leading the way. The run seemingly put the game away, but Young put one more mini-run together before New York's stars shined the brightest.
Layups from Stewart and Ionescu before a three from the latter put the game away and clinched the cup for the Liberty.
