Kylian Mbappe, France Match Jets' 2025 Win Total at MetLife Stadium During World Cup Run
The French national team has won two games at East Rutherford's MetLife Stadium (temporarily rebranded by FIFA as New York New Jersey Stadium) during the 2026 World Cup following Tuesday's 3-0 victory over Sweden.
And it turns out that is precisely as many games as the New York Jets won at MetLife during the entire 2025 NFL season.
Yikes.
Superstar Kylian Mbappé has four goals in those two wins. The Jets only had one skill-position player with more than four touchdowns in the entire 2025 season (running back Breece Hall, and he totaled... five touchdowns).
OK, this is just piling on now.
The Jets are currently in the early stages of yet another rebuild, so the hope in New York is that brighter days are on the horizon. At least there's been some greatness at MetLife Stadium this summer, albeit from a different country in an entirely different sport.
