New WWE Rumors on Big Cass Contract, Enzo Amore's Potential Return to Company
William Morrissey is about to swap one "Big" moniker for another.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reported Morrissey, who has competed in AEW as Big Bill, is returning to WWE and poised to reunite with former tag team partner Enzo Amore.
Enzo and Big Cass were a hugely popular duo during their run in NXT.
A lot of their success was owed to how well they complemented one another. Enzo was the charismatic one, and Cass was the powerhouse. A lot of their big matches followed the same formula as Enzo would take a beating, building to the moment when Cass would come in and clean house.
The pair were never crowned champions in NXT, but they didn't really need to be. The ovation they received during their Raw debut in 2016 illustrated how much they were over with fans.
A little over a year later, however, Cass turned on Enzo and the tag team was no more. And a year after that, WWE released Cass altogether following a lackluster singles run.
The 39-year-old eventually wound his way to AEW, where he rediscovered some of his momentum. He and Ricky Starks won tag team gold in October 2023.
Still, Cass has never returned to the heights he enjoyed in NXT, which is broadly true for Enzo as well. Amore won the old WWE Cruiserweight Championship on two occasions but bounced around after his own exit from the company in 2018.
With that in mind, the allure behind joining forces again is obvious.
