Packers, Jaguars, Bills, Joke About Being LeBron James Landing Spots After NBA Icon's Lakers Exit

As an underclassman at St. Vincent–St. Mary's High School, James played wide receiver for the football team and received offers to play for Division I schools. He finished his high school career with 103 receptions, 2,065 yards and 23 touchdowns despite not playing his senior year.
Both the Packers and Jaguars went the entire 2025 season without a 1,000-yard receiver. Green Bay didn't use any of its 2026 draft picks on a pass-catcher, while Jacksonville added two tight ends and two receivers in its 10 draft picks.
While James is set to turn 42 in December, he wouldn't be too old to compete on the football field. The NFL got in on the fun by posting highlights of 42-year-old legendary receiver Jerry Rice tearing it up in his final season in the league in 2004.
Still, it's more likely that James stays in the NBA, and Indianapolis Colts star cornerback Sauce Gardner predicted that he would land with the Indiana Pacers:
Per ESPN's Shams Charania, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul said James informed the Lakers that the franchise can move on without him because he plans to play elsewhere. The four-time NBA champion will be playing in his 24th season as he looks to end his legendary career on a high note.
