Red Sox's Aroldis Chapman Ties MLB Record With Strikeout vs. Yankees as Boston Completes Sweep
Eight-time All-Star closer Aroldis Chapman is closing in on more history.
The Boston Red Sox star recorded his 1,363rd strikeout against the New York Yankees on Sunday, and he's now tied for the most by a reliever in MLB history with Hall of Famer Hoyt Wilhelm.

The strikeout came during the ninth inning of Sunday's contest.
Chapman will almost certainly break the record soon, perhaps in his next appearance, and it will only add to his historic career. The 38-year-old holds the record for the fastest recorded pitch in MLB history, though Jacob Misiorowski could be coming for that record. Chapman is also 10th on the all-time saves list.
How much longer Chapman will play remains to be seen, but he'll look to keep adding to his resume until he calls it a career.
Boston ultimately rallied in the 10th inning for a 5-4 victory, completing a four-game sweep of its archrivals.
