TMZ reported last week that plans were in place for Swift and Kelce to hold their wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Emma G. Fitzsimmons, Maria Cramer and Dana Rubinstein of the New York Times later followed up by reporting that a permit had been filed to close down the streets surrounding MSG "from July 2 to midday July 4 for an event on July 3."
A city official with knowledge of the situation told the New York Times that the wedding is set to take place on July 3.
Per Nathan and Settembre, New York City Hall confirmed that a permit was filed for an event that will accommodate more than 1,000 people.
An industry insider told Nathan and Settembre, "I've heard Taylor invited so many people it's going to be bigger than the Met Gala."
Given the enormity of the event and the spectacle it is expected to be, it has led to speculation that Swift and Kelce won't actually say their "I do's" during it.
A source close to Swift told Nathan and Settembre, "Many feel the MSG event will be a celebration of marriage that will have already occurred," meaning it is possible Swift and Kelce will have already officially gotten married by the time of the MSG event.
However, there is reportedly "no sign of a Swift [marriage] license" filed at the Manhattan's' City Clerk's Office, which could throw some cold water on that theory.
