
Angel Reese's Final Box Score Stats, Highlights as Valkyries Beat Dream
Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream lost to the Golden State Valkyries by the final score of 78-75 at Chase Center on Friday night.
Reese finished with a double-double despite the defeat, scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in 29 minutes on the floor.
While she only shot 4-of-11 from the field, she made her presence felt defensively by picking up a career-high six steals.
Friday's matchup was a back-and-forth affair, as neither team led by more than six points throughout the duration of the game.
The contest started off as a defensive showcase, with the score still tied 10-10 as just under four minutes remained in the first quarter.
Atlanta took a one-point lead just before the end of the quarter due to a step-back triple from Jordin Canada.
Neither squad found much consistency on offense for the remainder of the first half, as the Dream held a narrow 35-32 advantage at halftime.
Atlanta pushed its lead to five points with just under seven minutes left in the third quarter, but Golden State responded with a quick 6-0 run to jump back in front.
The Dream took the lead back shortly afterwards and maintained a 55-51 edge heading into the fourth quarter, though.
Atlanta led 69-67 with just over two minutes left in the fourth, although Valkyries forward Gabby Williams scored six consecutive points to put her team up by four.
The Dream cut the deficit to just two points shortly afterwards, although Williams connected on multiple free throws to keep Atlanta at bay and seal the final result.
With the loss, Reese's squad dropped to 12-6 on the season.
