AEW's Darby Allin to Run New York Marathon, Admits 'I Don't Even Have Running Shoes Yet'
Former AEW champion Darby Allin is no stranger to pushing himself physically, and he will do so once again on Nov. 1 when he runs in the New York City Marathon.
Allin informed SI.com's Jon Alba of his plan on Thursday, saying, "I don't even have running shoes yet. I kind of want to just go into it fully blind. Everyone's like, 'You gotta know what you're getting yourself into.' I was like, I kinda wanna just wing it, and it sounds so fun. So I don't know if I'll if I actually train for it. Yeah. I kinda wanna just wing it and push myself."

Report: LaMelo Traded to Wolves
While Allin is something of a daredevil both inside and outside the ring, he told Alba that he has no experience with distance running.
Despite that, he is going to test himself in the 26.2-mile race in support of KultureCity, which is a nonprofit organization that benefits those with invisible disabilities.
Aside from his wrestling, Allin is perhaps best known for doing stunts in extreme sports, such as skateboarding. He also famously reached the summit of Mount Everest last year.
More recently, Allin held the AEW World Championship for just over one month before dropping it to MJF last month at Double or Nothing.
Although his title reign was short, it was memorable thanks to successful defenses against Tommaso Ciampa, Brody King, Kevin Knight, Pac, Konosuke Takeshita, Sammy Guevara and Mike Bailey.
