The Tar Heels scored six unanswered runs inside Charles Schwab Field to force Game 3 on Monday night.
Oklahoma got out to an early lead with two runs in the first inning.
Carolina took the lead for good in the third inning. Jake Schaffner scored on a wild pitch to give the Tar Heels a 3-2 advantage.
Schaffner's two-run triple tied the contest at two runs apiece earlier in the third inning.
Owen Hull and Cooper Nicholson padded the Carolina advantage with home runs in the fifth and seventh innings.
Hull hit a solo shot to right field in the fifth, while Nicholson knocked a two-run dinger over the left-field fence in the seventh.
North Carolina closed out the victory through five shutout innings from Caden Glauber.
Glauber followed up a four-inning start from Ryan Lynch. The two combined to strike out 13 Sooners.
Oklahoma used six relievers behind starter Xander Mercurius. None of them recorded more than four outs.
Both teams are expected to use an all-hands-on-deck pitching approach for Monday's Game 3.
An Oklahoma win in Game 3 extends the SEC's winning streak in Omaha to seven championships. North Carolina is looking to become the the first ACC winner since 2015.
