Everything Caitlin Clark Said After Fever's 2nd Straight Loss to Angel Reese, Dream in Rivalry Game
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark reacted to the team's 113-96 loss to Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Saturday.
"I think we have to take care of the ball better and that starts with me, so I think just focusing on that," Clark told reporters after the game (1:01 mark). "What we did well in the first half was play in transition, spray, find open people. And then, really hard to do that when all we do is foul and they score. We didn't play in transition at all in the second half because of that."
Clark finished with 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting, connecting on three of her seven attempts from behind the arc. She also picked up seven assists, but committed seven turnovers as well.
Meanwhile, Reese scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds while shooting 7-of-14 from the field in 31 minutes of action. She made her presence felt on both ends of the floor, recording two steals and one block.
The Fever got off to a hot start offensively, ending the first quarter with 37 points and taking a double-digit lead in the second.
Indiana couldn't maintain its momentum after halftime, scoring just 37 points over the final two quarters as Atlanta pulled ahead.
The Fever struggled with fouling and the Dream were able to slow down the pace of the game as a result, attempting 31 free throws as a team during the contest.
It was a disappointing loss for Indiana and Clark, especially considering they also lost to Atlanta by the final score of 108-101 on Thursday.
Still, the Fever own the No. 3 spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a 9-7 record.
