Angel Reese Makes WNBA History by Recording 1,000th Career Rebound vs. Caitlin Clark, Fever

It took less than three full seasons for Angel Reese to make WNBA history by reaching 1,000 career rebounds.

The Atlanta Dream announced Reese reached the mark with her sixth rebound of Saturday's game against Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever. By doing so in just 89 games, the forward became the fastest player to reach the milestone in WNBA history by a full 10 games.

Reese entered the league as the No. 7 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA draft and wasted no time making her mark when it came to controlling the glass.

In fact, she led the league in rebounding in each of her first two seasons with the Chicago Sky and has continued to dominate on the boards in her first year with the Dream after she was traded to Atlanta.

The LSU product averaged 13.1 rebounds per game as a rookie, 12.6 per game in her second season and entered Saturday's game averaging 12.2 a night this season. The rebounding is the primary reason Reese was an All-Star in each of her first two years in the league and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting behind only Clark in 2024.

Reese's game is far from perfect, and she's struggled with her offensive approach and field-goal percentage at times in the early portion of her career.

But there is no questioning her rebounding prowess, and she even had some fun with the situation when she trademarked the phrase "Mebounds" in response to some trolling.

If she maintains her current pace, she will continue to make history and climb the all-time WNBA rebounding lists regardless of any of that trolling.
