Jey Uso Responds to Fan Backlash After Advancing to WWE King of the Ring Finals vs. Oba Femi
Jey Uso seemingly responded Saturday to fan criticism regarding his run to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament.
In response to a post by Ringside News about fans being "furious" at Jey reaching the King of the Ring finals, The Usos' official X account made a post suggesting that there is nothing uncommon about fans taking issue with Jey's success:
Jey also made multiple posts on his Instagram Stories in which he vowed to make fans even angrier by beating Oba Femi in the King of the Ring finals:
During Friday night's episode of SmackDown, Jey defeated Je'Von Evans in the KOTR semifinals, bringing him within one victory of the crown.
At Night of Champions next weekend, Jey and Oba will clash with the title of King of the Ring and a world championship opportunity at SummerSlam hanging in the balance.
Jey's immense popularity with the WWE Universe led to him winning the 2025 men's Royal Rumble match and then beating Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41.
However, his title reign was fairly short-lived at 51 days, and a vocal portion of the internet wrestling fanbase has voiced displeasure about the idea of Jey winning another world title and returning to the main event scene.
Winning King of the Ring would ensure a huge championship match for Jey at SummerSlam, and there appears to be a real chance of it coming to fruition.
With Femi calling out Brock Lesnar in recent weeks, a popular theory is that Lesnar will cost Femi the King of the Ring finals at Night of Champions next weekend, setting up a rubber match between them at SummerSlam.
If that happens, Jey will be back in the top guy conversation, and there could be even more criticism heading his way.
