Trick Williams Beats Ricky Saints to Retain WWE US Title at Night of Champions
Trick Williams beat Ricky Saints at WWE Night of Champions on Saturday to retain the United States Championship.
Williams hit Saints with a Trick Shot for the victory, and when Saints attempted to attack Trick after the match, Lil Yachty hit him with a kendo stick and then a People's Elbow for good measure:

SmackDown Grades Before Night Of Champions
For weeks leading up to Night of Champions, Saints and Carmelo Hayes were at odds, as each of them attempted to establish themselves as the No. 1 contender for the U.S. title.
After Hayes beat Saints on the May 15 episode of SmackDown, Melo faced Trick one week later, and Williams was victorious due to Saints interfering and distracting Hayes.
That led to a series of additional matches between Saints and Hayes, including a double count-out on the May 29 edition of SmackDown, and a Saints victory one week later.
With their series tied at 1-1-1, Saints and Hayes locked horns one more time on the June 19 SmackDown with the winner earning the opportunity to challenge Williams for the United States Championship at Night of Champions.
Saints and Hayes were evenly matched and threw everything they had at one another, but an underhanded tactic ended up paying off for Saints.
In the latter stages of the bout, Saints sent Hayes headfirst into an exposed turnbuckle, paving the way for Saints to score the pinfall victory.
That set the stage for Saints vs. Williams, which is a rivalry renewed from their time together in NXT.
Saints went a perfect 2-0 in singles matches against Williams in NXT, retaining the NXT Championship against Trick at Halloween Havoc 2025 and on the Nov. 11, 2025, episode of NXT TV.
While that could have given Saints a psychological edge at Night of Champions, Williams prevailed and continued his impressive United States title reign instead.
