DeChambeau's recent struggles continued on Friday, as he missed his third straight major cut. He previously failed to advance to the weekend at the Masters as well as the PGA Championship.
His latest result was particularly disappointing considering his past success at the U.S. Open, winning the event in 2020 and 2024.
DeChambeau initially avoided trouble with a par save at hole No. 2 on Friday, but followed it up with two consecutive double bogeys to begin dropping down the leaderboard.
The 32-year-old couldn't recover before the end of the round, as he also finished the day with four bogeys.
Other notable former major champions to miss the cut on Friday included Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm and Shane Lowry.
