Sauce Gardner Reveals His Real Age After Conspiracy Theory Goes Viral, 'You Can Ask My Mom!'
Indianapolis Colts star cornerback Sauce Gardner is setting the record straight amid a viral conspiracy theory about his age.
The Athletic's James Boyd noted that multiple outlets, including ESPN.com and Pro Football Reference, list Gardner's birthday as Aug. 31, 2000, one year earlier than the date on his passport. While speaking to reporters on the last day of Colts minicamp, Gardner shot down the notion that he was born before 2001.
"I'm 24!" Gardner said, laughing as he shook his head. "It's crazy that I'm even being asked this."

When asked if he was sure, Gardner responded, "Yes! You can ask my mom!"
Gardner was also surprised to learn that his birthday is listed incorrectly in EA Sports' Madden NFL, which is a game he plays frequently.
"It's wrong in Madden, too? That's crazy because I never checked," Gardner said after he was notified. "Because when it comes to the paperwork and everything I've signed, it all says '01. So, I don't know where or how it got messed up unless people just get it straight from Google."
Despite the mix-up, Gardner found the humor in the situation and said he doesn't mind clearing the air.
"You can't believe everything you see on the internet," he said with a laugh. "You just can't."
