The King of the Ring tournament has played out on Raw and SmackDown over the past several weeks, and Femi's dominance was among the biggest storylines.
In an opening-round Fatal 4-Way, The Ruler decimated Penta, Carmelo Hayes and Solo Sikoa, allowing him to punch his ticket to the semifinals.
Femi took on an overmatched Dominik Mysterio next, and although Dirty Dom was able to get some offense in thanks to interference from The Judgment Day member JD McDonagh, he was ultimately too big and strong for Mysterio to handle.
While Oba was decimating one side of the bracket, Uso flew under the radar to some degree on the other side.
The one-time world heavyweight champion and Royal Rumble winner outlasted LA Knight, Finn Balor and Royce Keys in the first round before defeating young upstart Je'Von Evans in the semis.
While Femi had the obvious physical advantage entering the finals, Jey had a significant edge in terms of experience and accolades.
On top of that, the looming possibility of involvement from Brock Lesnar existed, as did the presence of Bloodline members such as Jimmy Uso, Jacob Fatu and even Roman Reigns.
Despite so many potential pitfalls, Femi was victorious at Night of Champions, giving him the right to challenge Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship or Cody Rhodes (or whoever leaves Night of Champions as WWE champion) for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam.
