Raiders' Fernando Mendoza Talks Learning from Tom Brady by Reading His Newsletters in New Video
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza says preparation for his first NFL season has involved daily reading of Tom Brady's newsletter.
Mendoza talked about learning from Brady, both from his direct feedback and his writing, in a recent interview with Front Office Sports' David Rumsey.
"I try to read one every single night as part of my nightly reading. That's like my book, for now," Mendoza told Rumsey.

Mendoza told Rumsey he directs any questions he has after reading the newsletters either to Brady or Raiders wellness coordinator Alex Guerrero.
Brady launched his newsletter "199" in January 2025, a few months after he was approved as a minority owner of the Raiders in October 2024.
The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal caller has since taken on a mentorship role in the Raiders' quarterback room, as detailed during Mendoza's interview with Rumsey.
Mendoza told Rumsey a story about how Brady provided guidance when he, Kirk Cousins, Jacob Clark and Tyler Linderbaum had a late-night question in the quarterback room.
"We had a question about a specific concept, and we were all there," Mendoza said. "Kirk was able to voice memo Tom really quick, and he got back to us, and it was a great answer that we took a lot from."
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport recently reported the Raiders are planning to start Cousins as long as possible in order to give Mendoza as much time as possible to develop.
The Raiders will hope that mentorship from Brady in addition to guidance from Cousins will help Mendoza build his game as much as possible before he makes his first NFL start.
