Browns Unlikely for Sorsby
Under the rules of the supplemental draft, a team loses its pick in the corresponding draft based on whenever it selects a prospect.
Veteran safety Jalen Thompson (2019) is the last player from the supplemental draft. The Arizona Cardinals took him in the fifth round and thus forfeited their fifth-rounder in the full 2020 draft.
The Athletic's Bruce Feldman spoke to one NFL scout who suggested Sorsby may have been picked ahead of Ty Simpson if he had declared for the 2026 draft. That's the kind of talent he possesses.
In two years as a starter at Cincinnati, Sorsby threw for 5,613 yards, 45 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also ran for 1,027 yards and 18 scores.
One Big 12 personnel director was a little more skeptical when speaking to Feldman about the signal-caller's potential at the next level.
"I get it: He can run and he's got a good arm, but you watch the tape, there's just some bad things, some strange losses and some clunker performances," they said. "Just a lot of it."
At this point, Sorsby has only applied for the supplemental draft. The NFL has yet to officially add him to the pool or set a date for the event.
