Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart to Throw Out 1st Pitches at Yankees Game After Knicks' NBA Title
The New York Knicks will continue celebrating their 2026 NBA title at a Wednesday night game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox.
Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart will be throwing out first pitches at Yankee Stadium before Wednesday's 7:05 p.m. ET start, the Yankees announced.
The celebration will continue Thursday as Brunson and Hart join their team for a championship ticker-tape parade in Manhattan starting at 10 a.m. ET.
The Knicks secured their first NBA title since 1973 last Saturday with a 94-90 Game 5 win over Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
Brunson was named 2026 NBA Finals MVP after providing almost half of the Knicks' scoring with 45 points in that championship-clinching victory.
Yankees star Jazz Chisholm Jr. later joined the Knicks in celebrating their title win, per Bridget Reilly of the New York Post.
The Game 5 victory closed out a dominant run for the Knicks, who won 13 straight playoff games on their way to finishing the postseason 16-3.
The latter part of that run has coincided with a strong stretch from the Yankees, who have gone 13-5 since May 25 to boast the best record in MLB over that stretch.
That run has allowed the Yankees to leapfrog the Tampa Bay Rays, who have gone 7-13 over the same stretch, and lead the AL East.
The Yankees most recently stretched their division lead to 2.5 games on Tuesday with a 12-2 blowout victory over the White Sox.
The club has now won seven of its last eight games, including a three-game win streak during which New York has outscored opponents by a total of 23-6.
The Yankees could now hope bringing in some recent NBA champions will help this dominant stretch continue when Wednesday night's rematch with the White Sox kicks off in the Bronx.
