Shohei Ohtani Injury Update, Status Given By Dodgers' Dave Roberts Amid Knee Swelling
Shohei Ohtani has been dealing with knee swelling since last week, but the Los Angeles Dodgers star is scheduled to start against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday.
Manager Dave Roberts gave an update on Ohtani on Tuesday.
"I saw that he had just a catch-play right now," Roberts told reporters. "He's going to do his touchy-feely deal from the mound in a little bit. I saw him play some catch. Looks good, feels good. Look forward to him making a start tomorrow."

Ohtani exited last Thursday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates with left knee inflammation, and he missed Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox. He returned on Saturday and has been in the lineup the last three days.
Wednesday will be his first start on the mound since the injury, and it will be a quick turnaround since it's an afternoon game.
"He likes his sleep. It's certainly not ideal, but the calendar is the calendar," Roberts said. "He'll get his rest and do what he can to post tomorrow. … Anyone that has anything that has a potential red flag, we'll certainly be watching closely. But again, he wouldn't start if we felt that we were going to put him in harm's way. He's a competitor."
Ohtani is hitting .298 with 14 homers and 41 RBI so far this year. On the mound, he's recorded a 1.06 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP, posting a 6-2 record in 11 starts.
