Serena Williams' Highlights & Final Stats from Berlin Tennis Open Doubles 2026
After Serena Williams had her doubles run at Queen's Club cut short by an injury to her playing partner, her tenure at the Berlin Tennis Open ended just as quickly.
Williams and Karolina Muchova suffered a first-round loss to Giuliana Olmos and Erin Routliffe in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, on Tuesday.
Williams, who was playing in just her third match since returning to competition this year, did her best to keep up with her opponents while Muchova struggled a bit.

Still, the 45-year-old didn't mind coaching up her partner, and she and Muchova even enjoyed some moments of levity despite the loss.
Interestingly, Williams spent some time on the left side of the court when she typically stayed on the right side. Some speculated that it could indicate that she's gearing up for her return to singles competition.
Tuesday wasn't all bad for Williams, as she and her sister, Venus, were announced as wildcard entries into the doubles tournament at Wimbledon.
Seeing Serena and Venus team up once again is sure to get fans excited, and Williams will be hoping for a better result alongside her sister as she continues her epic comeback tour.
