NYC Mayor Mamdani Appears to Confirm Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Wedding at MSG amid Rumors
Amid rumors about Madison Square Garden hosting the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce wedding, New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani may have confirmed at least part of the story.
Speaking to reporters at a press briefing about New York's ability to host major events, Mamdani mentioned "Taylor Swift's wedding" as one taking place this summer that the city is preparing for.
TMZ Sports reported on June 5 that Swift and Kelce will tie the knot at MSG on July 3, with up to 1,200 people expected to be invited to the ceremony.
The report notes the couple has gone to "great lengths to ensure privacy" for the event, including communicating with invitees via text rather than sending physical invitations.
Madison Square Garden will also provide privacy since there are no windows on the building that would allow outside photographers to take pictures.
In a follow-up report on June 9, TMZ noted Swift and Kelce have rented out the venue for at least three days. The first day is for the set up, the second day will be for the ceremony, then the final day would be to take down the set up.
There are no public events scheduled at Madison Square Garden from June 29 through July 6. The first listed event in the month of July is a Bon Jovi concert on July 7.
In a summer that has already seen the New York Knicks end their 53-year championship drought by beating the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, the Swift-Kelce wedding might be the only thing that could potentially top it in terms of major pop-culture events at MSG.
Swift and Kelce became engaged in August 2025 after they started dating in 2023.
