Jalen Brunson Reveals If He Believes in Danhausen's Curse to Jimmy Fallon After Knicks Win NBA Title
New York Knicks superstar guard and 2026 NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson gave some credit to WWE's Danhausen for the Knicks' magical run to their first championship since 1973.
During an appearance Monday on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon alongside teammate Karl-Anthony Towns and head coach Mike Brown, Brunson was asked by Fallon if he believed Danhausen "uncursing" the Knicks played a role in their postseason success (beginning at the 6:15 mark):
Brunson, who is a big WWE fan, proceeded to give Danhausen his props, saying, "At first I was a little skeptical, but I mean, you have to believe it now."
Danhausen then showed his gratitude for Brunson's belief in a post of his own on X:
At the time of Danhausen's uncursing, the Knicks were down 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs.
From that point forward, the Knicks won three in a row to eliminate the Hawks, swept the Philadelphia 76ers, swept the Cleveland Cavaliers and beat the San Antonio Spurs in five games in the NBA Finals.
All told, the Knicks went 15-1 after Danhausen uncursed them, and they ended a championship drought that spanned more than 50 years.
