New Giants Trade Rumors on Logan Webb, Rafael Devers, More Ahead of 2026 MLB Deadline

The San Francisco Giants have reportedly "put out feelers on some of their players, testing the waters for potential deals" ahead of MLB's Aug. 3 trade deadline, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

This includes being "open to offers" on Rafael Devers, Willy Adames, Matt Chapman, per Buster Olney of ESPN. Luis Arraez and Robbie Ray are also considered "obvious trade candidates."

But Logan Webb isn't for sale.

Per Rosenthal, the Giants have "zero plans to part with ace right-hander Webb, one source said."

At 29-43, it's probably time for the organization to consider this season a lost cause. The Giants are already 16 games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West and nine games back in the Wild Card chase. If the ship isn't quite sunk yet, it's certainly taking on water at alarming rates.

Keeping the 29-year-old Webb for the future does make sense, however. The two-time All-Star is 4-4 this season with a 3.46 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 65 strikeouts in 75.1 innings. More importantly, he's under contract through 2028 and will make $23 million in 2027 and $24 million in 2028, very reasonable numbers for a pitcher of his quality.

So the Giants may soon enough be open for business, but the fire sale likely won't include Webb.
