Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge Among Top Vote-Getters in 1st 2026 MLB All-Star Game Ballot Update

Joseph ZuckerJun 15, 2026

MLB released the first batch of voting returns for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game on Monday, and a somewhat surprising candidate leads the balloting in the American League.

Los Angeles Dodgers two-way standout Shohei Ohtani has more votes (1,165,133) than any player. Over in the AL, Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez (1,015,768) possesses a slight edge on the New York Yankees' Aaron Judge (977,460).

Here are the positional leaders for each league:

USA Today's Bob Nightengale provided more detailed breakdowns:

Under MLB's ASG voting rules, only Ohtani and Alvarez would be assured of a starting spot in Philadelphia on July 14. Everyone else would move into Phase 2, where the top two vote-getters in the infield and the top six in the outfield battle it out.

Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Ernie Clement has a massive lead, but that could be one of the tightest positions in the voting. Only 8,134 votes separate the Texas Rangers' Ezequiel Duran from Cleveland Guardians rookie Travis Bazzana for second place.

Two of the three spots in the NL outfield could go down to the wire as well. Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. sits in second with 693,472 votes, but teammate Michael Harris II (635,473) isn't far behind in fourth.

Phase 2 for All-Star voting will begin in two weeks on June 29.
