New Broncos Rumors on Surprise Contract Signing of UFL Offensive POY for Bo Nix, Sean Payton
The Denver Broncos are signing wide receiver Hakeem Butler, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Butler was a fourth-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2019 and made two appearances for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020.
His deal comes on the heels of his success in the UFL. The 30-year-old has twice won the league's Offensive Player of the Year award, including this past season after he caught 29 passes for a league-high 641 yards.

Predicting Biggest Comeback Players 📈
Denver's receiver room is pretty settled heading into the 2026 season. Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin, its top two pass-catchers a season ago, are both back, and the Broncos made an aggressive play for Jaylen Waddle.
Depth at the position wasn't a growing concern, either. Pat Bryant had 31 receptions for 378 yards and one touchdown as a rookie in 2025, and Marvin Mims put together another solid season as a secondary aerial target and elite return man.
That gives Denver the freedom to take a flier on Butler ahead of training camp. Having failed to catch on in the NFL, playing in the UFL might've provided him with the experience necessary to get to a point where he can contribute.
If that doesn't prove to be the case, the Broncos aren't out much.
