It marks Carolina's first Stanley Cup Trophy since the 2005-06 season. The Canes, who dropped Games 1 and 3, finished with a 16-3 record in the playoffs, marking the second-best playoff record since the NHL switched to the seven-game series format throughout the playoffs in 1987.
Taylor Hall got things started for Carolina with his second goal of the series to give the Canes an early edge.
In the second period, Jackson Blake made it a 2-0 game off an assist from Logan Stankoven.
An empty-netter from Nikolaj Ehlers sealed the deal for the Canes in the final minutes.
Carolina goalie Brandon Bussi put together an outstanding effort, saving all 22 attempts against him, but he also got a bit of luck as Vegas failed to capitalize on some great opportunities, including a shot from Jack Eichel in the third period that went off the crossbar.
The Hurricanes put together one of the best postseason runs in recent memory, cruising past Ottawa, crushing Philadelphia and downing Montreal to set up a meeting with Vegas.
Now, the Canes are back on top for the first time since 2006.
