Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart's Final Box Score Stats, Highlights as Liberty Beat Dream
Angel Reese just had her best game of the season, and one of the best offensive games of her career. Unfortunately for her, the New York Liberty were even better.
Led by Breanna Stewart's 19 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, the Liberty beat the Atlanta Dream 104-90 on Thursday night in Commissioner's Cup action. Satou Sabally added 19 points off the bench, and the Liberty were a scalding 16-of-31 (51.6 percent) from beyond the arc.
That spoiled a fantastic performance from Reese, who put up 25 points, nine rebounds, two steals and a block in the loss. Rhyne Howard added 24 points and three assists.
But the Liberty were just too good, hitting 54.2 percent of their shots from the field and 24-of-28 shots from the charity stripe. They shot so well they overcame 19 turnovers, and it didn't hurt that they killed the Dream on the boards (40-24).
The Dream have been fantastic in Reese's first year with the team, though the loss on Thursday dropped them to 8-4, ending a two-game winning streak. Reese did see her latest double-double streak end at five games (it was just her third game this season that wasn't a double-double), but she more than made up for it with a fantastic offensive night.
The Liberty, keen on bouncing back after last season's disappointing first-round ouster against the Phoenix Mercury, are now 9-4 in the 2026 campaign.
