New NFL Rumors on Team 'Mulling' WR Addition amid Keenan Allen, Deebo Samuel Links
The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly considering adding more help at wide receiver for the 2026 NFL season.
According to ESPN's Stephen Holder, the Colts are "still mulling" a potential move at receiver with options including veterans Keenan Allen and Deebo Samuel.
After Indianapolis traded Michael Pittman Jr. to the Pittsburgh Steelers in March, Alec Pierce and Josh Downs are expected to serve as the team's top two wide receivers next season.
The Colts' No. 3 receiver is still uncertain, as special teams ace Ashton Dulin and free-agent addition Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are both candidates to earn the role.
Head coach Shane Steichen revealed what he's searching for from the No. 3 receiving spot.
"The biggest thing is consistency," Steichen said, per Holder.
If Indianapolis wants to bring in an experienced option to compete for the job, Allen is an intriguing option.
While the six-time Pro Bowler is now 34 years old, he still contributed to the Los Angeles Chargers' offense in 2025. Allen recorded 81 catches for 777 yards and four touchdowns last season.
As for Samuel, he appeared in 16 games with the Washington Commanders during his 2025 campaign. He hauled in 72 receptions for 727 yards and five touchdowns while catching passes from three different starting quarterbacks.
The Colts will enter the 2026 season looking to end a five-year playoff drought.
