College World Series 2026 Championship Bracket and Predictions

Eight teams converge on Omaha, Nebraska with the hopes of leaving as the NCAA baseball champion.

The College World Series field is dominated by the SEC. Five programs, including all four in one half of the bracket.

The SEC won the last six College World Series titles. Five different programs have been responsible for those victories.

A double-elimination format is in use in Omaha. The winners of each half of the bracket meet each other for a best-of-three championship series.

The top half of the bracket, which opens play on Friday, has the two surprises of the tournament: the West Virginia Mountaineers and Troy Trojans.

One of those programs will have a chance to go 2-0 in the top half of the bracket.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are the highest-seeded team in that portion of the bracket, but they face a tough opener against the Ole Miss Rebels.

UNC's pitching could carry it through Omaha. The Tar Heels allowed 11 runs across their five wins in the regional and super regional rounds.

West Virginia is the red-hot team at the moment. The Mountaineers put up 29 runs in the super regional round. They scored nine or more runs on six occasions so far in the NCAA tournament.

The bottom half of the bracket is going to feel like the SEC tournament. The Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns and Alabama Crimson Tide all survived as top-seven national seeds to reach Omaha. The Oklahoma Sooners dethroned the No. 2 seed Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and crushed the Kansas Jayhawks in the super regional round.

Georgia is the best overall team in the bottom half, but its offense might be limited outside of the hitter-friendly Foley Field. UGA put 24 runs at home in the super regional round.

Texas hasn't allowed more than five runs in an NCAA tournament game. The Longhorns might be considered the favorite to advance from the bottom half because of their pitching staff.

Pitching could play a major role over the next week in Omaha. UNC and Texas might have the biggest edges there because of how consistent their staffs have been.
