Early WWE WrestleMania 43 Match Card Picks Including Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi
The WWE Universe may be looking forward to SummerSlam in August, but the seeds will be sown over the coming months for the Road to WrestleMania 43.
With the company focused on long-term booking around its biggest championships, all eyes are on Roman Reigns, Oba Femi, CM Punk, Gunther, Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch and WWE's top Superstars as the groundwork is laid for the future.
Here are three early WrestleMania 43 match card predictions and who will walk out of Saudi Arabia as a winner.
Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi
Since leaving The Shield, it's clear that Roman Reigns is the main man in WWE, but his current run with the World Heavyweight Championship will come to an end at WrestleMania 43 when Oba Femi is crowned as the "next big thing."
Reigns holding the championship through April 2027 is a long run, but Triple H and WWE Creative's reliance on familiar main event formulas has often led them back to The Bloodline.
Reigns thrives in the top spot, so the company would be foolish to remove him until someone has the cachet to take it.
For Femi, winning the war against Brock Lesnar and eventually earning the men's Royal Rumble victory in 2027 would be all the preparation needed for a marquee showdown against Reigns.
With the wrestling world watching, Femi winning the match and earning the title would be the moment he becomes an unquestioned Superstar.
CM Punk vs. Gunther
Femi's booking needs to be perfect heading into the battle, but with WWE's dedication to Reigns, there is little doubt this one-on-one matchup would be worthy of headlining Saudi Arabia's WrestleMania.
Rumors are swirling about CM Punk and his absence from WWE programming, but it could be a sign that his time in wrestling is coming to an end.
If The Best in the World decides to call it a career, there may be no bigger stage than WrestleMania 43 and no more fitting final foe than Gunther.
Gunther has become an absolute menace on the main roster, forcing several of the biggest names in wrestling history to retire, including Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles. To add Punk to that list would be a monumental achievement.
By the time WrestleMania 43 rolls around in 2027, Punk will be 48 years old. The veteran has put hard miles on his body, with injuries plaguing his career in All Elite Wrestling and, at times, impacting his run in WWE. Before Father Time catches up, he should go out on his own terms and cement his legacy.
In addition to going out at his best, using his retirement tour to ultimately put over a younger Superstar like Gunther, who continues to build his own legacy, would be the ideal way to give back to the wrestling business.
Punk has lost some goodwill with the WWE Universe due to his actions over the years, but losing to Gunther and walking away would be the storybook ending that could erase those hard feelings.
Liv Morgan vs. Becky Lynch
When booking one of the biggest imaginable women's matches at WrestleMania 43, one of the best options would be pitting Becky Lynch against Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship.
If the two battle in Saudi Arabia, Morgan will have held the title for a full year after beating Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42.
The WWE Universe has historically turned on long title reigns once the novelty wears off, and with Morgan already starting to receive mixed reactions, she should be a full-blown heel by next April.
Morgan recently beat Lynch, Alexa Bliss and Chelsea Green in a Fatal 4-Way match to advance in the Queen of the Ring tournament, further teasing tension for the future.
With a long history of matches and feuds between the two world champions—starting in 2021 and running through their battles in 2024—there is plenty of meat left on the bone for another chapter in their storied rivalry.
Lynch has played second fiddle to many Superstars in recent years, using her platform to put over both the Women's Intercontinental Championship and younger performers, but the company needs her to be a cornerstone as it moves into 2027.
Winning against Morgan at WrestleMania 43 would ensure she remains a top dog in the women's division.
