Chris Olave Out for Saints OTAs amid Blood Clot, HC Kellen Moore Says
New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore revealed that star wide receiver Chris Olave is not participating in OTAs due to a blood clot he suffered late in the 2025 season.
"He hasn't been able to do the team activities obviously throughout OTAs," Moore said Wednesday, per NOLA.com's Matthew Paras.
Moore also confirmed that "the blood clot was related to not participating in team and some of those things," via Paras.

He explained the Olave has still been able to put in work during the offseason, though.
The wideout appeared in each of New Orleans' first 16 games last year, but was ruled out for the team's season finale after the discovery of a blood clot in his lung.
Olave participated in individual drills during the Saints' offseason workout on May 28, hauling in passes from quarterback Tyler Shough. He discussed his initial reaction to the blood clot after the session.
"It was crazy," Olave said at the time, per Paras. "I didn't really know before when they told me, I ain't really know what a blood clot was, but once they told me, they explained the whole situation that was going on, I feel like it was tough at first.
"But I just put my best foot forward, (and am) just trying to do everything right so I can be healthy at the beginning of the year."
The 25-year-old has served as a key piece of New Orleans' offense when healthy, surpassing 1,000 receiving yards in three of the first four seasons of his career.
Olave caught a career-high 100 passes for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns in 2025, averaging 11.6 yards per reception. He earned Second Team All-Pro honors for his efforts.
While the beginning of the 2026 season is still multiple months away, Olave's health will be something to monitor as training camp draws closer.
