Witherspoon, 25, has been a Pro Bowler in each of his three seasons and was a second-team All-Pro selection in the 2025 campaign. For his career he's posted two interceptions, 32 passes defensed, 249 tackles (16 for loss) and 4.5 sacks.
Pro Football Focus ranked him as the No. 11 player in the NFL last season, writing that he was "the NFL's only cornerback to earn a 90.0-plus PFF overall grade this season. He was fantastic in every facet of play, tying for first with a 90.1 PFF run-defense grade, leading all cornerbacks in total pressures and ranking third at the position with an 83.6 PFF coverage grade."
The Seahawks clearly believe in the trio of Witherspoon, Josh Jobe and Nick Emmanwori, letting veteran Riq Woolen walk in free agency (he signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles).
Locking Witherspoon up to a long-term deal is the next logical step. While he won't hit free agency until after the 2027 season, with the Seahawks exercising his fifth-year option, he was a crucial part of last year's Super Bowl-winning team and appears to be a keystone of the franchise going forward.
When he does sign a new deal, expect it to be in the neighborhood of the $31 million AAV of Trent McDuffie's deal or Sauce Gardner's $30.1 million AAV. If Witherspoon doesn't reset the cornerback market, he'll surely be close to the position's most lucrative deals.
