Aaron Brewer, Dolphins Reportedly Agree to Contract to Put Him Among NFL's Highest-Paid Centers

Timothy RappJun 10, 2026

The Miami Dolphins and center Aaron Brewer reportedly agreed to a three-year, $52.5 million extension on Wednesday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, with $37 million guaranteed.

Brewer's $17.5 million average annual salary would rank third among centers, per Spotrac, behind Tyler Linderbaum's massive $27 million AAV with the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City's Creed Humphrey ($18 million).

Brewer, 28, was set to be an unrestricted free agent after the 2026 season before Wednesday's deal. He went from being an undrafted free agent to a second-team All-Pro selection and finalist for the NFL Protector of the Year Award in the 2025 season (ultimately won by Chicago's Joe Thuney).

Pro Football Focus ranked him as the No. 22 player in the NFL last season, writing: "Quietly a solid player for several seasons, Brewer took things to a new level in 2025. The Dolphins center garnered a career-best 87.4 PFF overall grade, moving bodies in the run game on his way to a 91.5 PFF run-blocking gradeโ€”the second-best mark of any interior offensive lineman. Brewer also more than held his own in pass protection, ranking fifth among qualified centers with a 71.2 PFF pass-blocking grade."

The Dolphins have clearly identified the core group they want to build around going forward on offense, releasing players like Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill this offseason while extending Brewer and star running back De'Von Achane (four years, $64 million).

It's a new era in Miami, with general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley taking the beginning steps to rebuild the roster. They clearly see Brewer as a key part of that effort.
