USWNT vs. Brazil Score, Highlights, Stats and Reaction
The United States women's national team handled business in a friendly match on Tuesday.
The USWNT downed Brazil 1-0 after losing their previous matchup against Brazil 2-1 on Saturday.
Tuesday's match started with a defensive battle as neither team scored in the first half. The scoreless first half was in large part due to the outstanding job from Lorena in goal for Brazil.
Neither offense found much life in the second half, but the United States' Sophia Wilson managed to disrupt Brazil's defense enough to force an own-goal to give the USWNT a 1-0 lead in the 63rd minute.
The United States then managed to keep Brazil off the board through the rest of regulation. Things got a bit chippy with Brazil picking up a pair of red cards late in the match, but even with 10-plus minutes of extra time, Brazil was unable to find the equalizer.
With its series with Brazil now in the books, the United States has nothing on the schedule until November, when the Concacaf W Championship quarterfinals take place.
