Everything Nick Sirianni Said About A.J. Brown, Eagles WRs After Trade with Patriots

Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni reflected on his four seasons working with wide receiver A.J. Brown while looking ahead following Brown's trade to the New England Patriots.

Sirianni said Brown had a "good run" in Philly, which included a Super Bowl title and two Pro Bowl appearances. The coach quickly shifted the conversation to the Eagles' current wideouts and provided an early hierarchy at the position:

All things considered, Sirianni would probably prefer to have a receiver of Brown's ability on the roster, and the veteran pass-catcher wasn't an openly disruptive presence in the locker room or on the field in 2025.

Still, the coach likely isn't heartbroken to move on from all of the distractions Brown helped to create in his final season on the Eagles.

Sirianni's exasperation became pretty evident in the face of the same questions about Brown's happiness and commitment and whether he was on the same page with quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Every time it looked like Hurts, Brown, Sirianni and offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo were close to finding chemistry, something else surfaced to invite new scrutiny.

The nature of Brown's trade saga ultimately made this a pretty seamless separation. He didn't need to be around the team facility much, and his exit was telegraphed weeks if not months in advance. The Eagles pretty much showed they were moving on when they used a first-round pick on Makai Lemon.

From a coaching standpoint, Sirianni had ample time to sketch out a different vision for the passing game, one without Brown in the fold.
