Caitlin Clark Reveals What She Was Thinking on Epic Game-Winning Shot for Fever vs. Mystics
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark could already hear the postgame reactions if she had missed her long-range jumper in Monday's 78-76 win over the Washington Mystics.
Clark sank a three-pointer with 1.2 seconds on the clock to propel Indiana to the victory.
"You better make this. Because I missed my free throws," she told reporters of her mindset at the time. "All those plays are plays we work on after practice, so everybody knows their role, everybody knows what they're going to do."

Clark Reacts to Criticism 😤

Caitlin Clark hits clutch game-winner
Clark had an opportunity to put the Fever ahead inside the final minute but couldn't sink either of her free throws. That was totally forgotten once her last-second heave swished through the net.
Mystics rookie Cotie McMahon was left to rue her missed steal attempt, which allowed Clark time to line up a wide-open look.
"Cotie almost got a fingertip on it," Clark said. "It kind of worked out perfectly that she went for the steal. Honestly, probably the most wide-open shot I had all night. My hands got a little clammy, but still went in, I guess."
The Fever will hope this can kick-start what has been an up-and-down season so far. Their 6-5 record is indicative of a team that hasn't maintained positive momentum for more than a few games at a time.
Matchups against the Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun, who are a combined 6-18, are ahead. Coach Stephanie White couldn't have asked for a better chance to get her squad clicking on the court.
