How Browns Value Jared Verse After Myles Garrett Traded Revealed in New NFL Rumors
Despite trading star edge rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams last week, the Cleveland Browns reportedly feel more than satisfied with the package they received in return.
In addition to receiving a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a conditional 2029 third-round pick, the Browns convinced the Rams to send them rising star edge rusher Jared Verse in exchange for Garrett. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Sarah Barshop, Mike Reiss, Daniel Oyefusi and Tim McManus revealed that Cleveland views Verse very highly after acquiring him.
"A team source said Verse was valued at a '[first-round pick-plus] easily,'" the report stated.

The 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowl selection in each of his first two NFL seasons, Verse is one of the most promising young players in the league. The 25-year-old has produced a combined 124 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 12 sacks across two years.
Replacing a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year like Garrett will not be an easy task, but the Browns should be pleased with having Verse to lead their defense for years to come.
