Angel Reese Reacts to Bounce-Back Win After Dream's Loss to Caitlin Clark, Fever in New Video
Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese thought a defeat in their previous game helped spark them to an offensive explosion against the Washington Mystics on Saturday.
The Dream won 109-77 and nearly set a franchise scoring record, which was quite the contrast from a 71-point showing in a loss to the Indiana Fever.
"I think honestly just coming back home, you protect you house," Reese told reporters (4:44 mark of the video below). "You don't want anybody to come into your house and beat you. Obviously, we don't like to lose and the way we lost wasn't something that we wanted. Of course it was for us to all come together and try to find ways to be better. I think everybody took a look in the mirror last game and figured out how we can individually be better for the team. I think we came out and did that tonight."
Reese earned her seventh double-double of the 2026 WNBA season, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds. She was one of five Dream players to score in double figures.
As a team, Atlanta shot 48.5 percent from the field and went 13-of-25 on three-pointers.
The Dream excelled on offense in Karl Smesko's first season as head coach. He brought a defined approach to the team, and that resulted in the WNBA's second-best offensive rating in 2025.
While Atlanta remains an elite defensive team, it sits just seventh in offensive rating through 10 games. The team isn't clicking on that end of the floor like it did a season ago.
Hammering Washington was a step in the right direction, and playing the 4-6 Chicago Sky on Tuesday presents an opportunity to build on that result.
